There aren’t many CrossFit Affiliates that operate with just one trainer and as your business grows, you’ll need additional trainers to help cover some of the workload as you work on building your business. To maintain the standards you set for the gym, developing your coaches and conducting effective team meetings is crucial.
As a leader, a meeting can help keep everyone organized, engaged and serve as a learning tool. I’ll be the first to say that I hate meetings that run over time and are scheduled just to meet but have no real purpose or focus.
Our team meetings are effective in that we stay focused on accomplishing a few goals. Celebrate our accomplishments, keep everyone informed, conduct professional development and bond together through a WOD.
Here’s the outline we use to conduct our team meetings.
CELEBRATION AND RECOGNITION
This section is designed to celebrate our successes and start the meeting off right. These can be accomplishments as a team, individual, client or anything else that should be recognized.
We use this section to communicate important information to our coaches. This is the time to get feedback on previous events or programs, discuss upcoming information, communicate changes and keep everyone informed.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT/MOVEMENT/SKILL REVIEW
Every one of our meetings has a focal point for professional development. This builds consistency in our coaching for all of our athletes in the gym.
This is for other topics not previously listed that anyone can bring up.
Designed by one of the coaches, this is the opportunity to build a bond with each other as coaches.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Here is where we list upcoming events that are important for everyone.
